AlcoHawk Pro Breathalyzer
According to a product description at the Breathalyzer.net website: The AlcoHawk Pro is the most accurate semiconductor-oxide Breathalyzer offered by Breathalyzer.net. This model takes a deeper breath sample from subjects and provides more accurate results than similar models. This model is trusted by many professional organizations for employee screening, emergency room care, and roadside testing. The semiconductor sensor accuracy is ±0.01%BAC at 0.10% BAC and is DOT / NHTSA approved as an alcohol screening device. The AlcoHawk Pro is also 510(k) Certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The AlcoHawk ABI and AlcoHawk Pro include Sensor Recognition Technology to monitor certain types of abnormal sensor conditions. Only these models with the SR feature are the new 2008 versions of these testers. The AlcoHawk Pro now includes innovative FlowCheck technology. An important aspect of breath testing is ensuring that subjects blow a large volume of air through the tester. FlowCheck will verify that enough air has been blown through the AlcoHawk Pro before displaying a test result. If the FlowCheck engages and recognizes that not enough air was blown, an error message will be displayed and a retest should be performed. The site also features a testimonial from a police officer: I did much research and decided to purchase the AlcoHawk Pro from Breathalyzer-net. I chose the AlcoHawk Pro because it’s rated for law enforcement and it has FlowCheck technology which an excellent feature. The AlcoHawk Pro comes with everything a patrolman would need. I used my AlcoHawk Pro the first day I got it for a DUI accident and the unit performed flawlessly. Before making my purchase, I had several questions which were promptly answered by customer service. Amazon.com I don't drink to often so when I do it's hard to know my limits. This thing really helps. However I found that you really have to wait a while after your last drink before it can get a good reading. Once I blew a .04 then 5 minutes later I blew a .09!! I trust this thing works though. It does warn you that you should wait about 20 minutes after your last drink. I would wait longer though. It was worth the money for me. And another: This is the third AlcoHawk breathalyzer I owned in 3 years. If you follow the directions and wait 20 mins or so after eating or drinking anything before using this product it should work excellent for about 5-6 months before needing to be recalibrated. Be careful around 5 months because you won't at first realize it is getting out of calibration. If you have problems sooner than that you are probably using it wrong. I use it 3-5 times a week so yours may vary one way or the other. The company offers recalibration for $19.99 but I haven't tried that yet. The UberGizmo website wrote: AlcoHawk has come up with a redesign of its personal-use alcohol breath test for improved accuracy and ease-of-use. Known as the AlcoHawk Pro, you get foolproof FlowCheck Technology that ensures sufficient air sample is tested while alerting you to abnormal sensor conditions....Sounds like the perfect gadget to have with this upcoming holiday season that will involve a whole lot of booze and binging. A reviewer at Epinions.com concluded: Overall, this seems like a handy gadget to have around, especially if you're concerned about guests or you have a difficult time judging your own impairment levels after a few drinks. I think I'd be pretty offended if I received this for a gift, but luckily my friend was just amused and actually says he'll find it useful. And hey, $150 for this gadget is cheaper than posting bail. * Get the Latest Price on the AlcoHawk Pro Breathalyzer. * UK/Euro purchasers click HERE.
