Which Is The Best Medical Alert Device?
At the time of writing the top seller among medical alert devices, according to Amazon.com, was the 911 Emergency Phone Guardian Alert Another popular product, classified by Amazon.com as a medical alert device, was the Sonic Boom Analog Alarm Clock With Bed Shaker Packaged with our newest most powerful 12-volt bed shaker. Sharp blue back light also flashes when alarm sounds. Complete with a hi/low dimmer switch to sleep better at night. Extra loud pulsating audio alarm with a loud 113db adjustable tone & volume control. Snooze Button - 9 minutes. Battery backup to maintain the proper time in the event of a power outage. Dual Power & Dual Time features: Our SBA475ss alarm clock comes with a 110 volt power supply, and will also work with an optional 220 volt transformer. Also on the best-seller list was the Medline Quick-Alert Ultra Monitor for Quick-Alert Ultra Monitoring System - Model MDT8100 This alarm has an auto-start safety feature that activates the alarm when a patient is being sensed. It has a protective silicone cover that helps to reduce unintentional breakage. Our more durable electronic design resists wear and tear and stands up to the static interference found in many facilities. The alarm has a 30- and 90-day warranty on pressure mats. For bed and chair use. Another popular product was the Duro-Med Telemergency Alert Device Automatically contacts 911 (optional) and up to five additional phone numbers of your choice for emergencies. Includes easy to use wireless pendant. One press of the button (on the remote pendant or unit) alerts where you are and the type of emergency. Works up to 30 hours during a power outage with a 9-volt battery backup (not included). Customer service support through toll free number, devise will alert acknowledgement tones. Visually impaired features include: large concaved buttons and different sized button on pendant. However, note this customer review: I want so badly for this item to be perfect, so I can write a perfect review. It has advantages. It's very easy to use, my grandmother has had no problems carrying the remote with her, there is no monitoring service or monthly fees involved. Just press the button and it starts dialing the numbers you program. The theory gets five stars. In practice, this only gets three. We're having one major problem with this device: when an answering machine answers at the first phone number we've programmed, the Telemergency does not move on to the next call. It spits out its message and stops dialing. Every number on the list has an answering machine or voice mail. I don't think this is unusual these days. This should be able to handle answering machines, but it doesn't. I'm concerned that someday help will be needed, but 911 won't get called because "We pressed the button," and assumed that the call would go through.
