Air Swiss Humidifier
The company's line of ultrasonic humidifiers include: * Air-O-Swiss AOS Ultrasonic Humidifier 7135 * Air-O-Swiss AOS 7144 * Air-O-Swiss 7145 ultrasonic humidifier * Air-O-Swiss 7146 Travel Ultrasonic Humidifier Here are excerpts from a couple of Amazon.com customer reviews that are fairly typical (though the devices do also attract some negative reviews, for all kinds of reasons): *Ii went to Walmart and bought a $40 humidifier thinking that all humidifiers are the same. After the third time of returning the $40 pieces of crap I found this wonderful product. This humidifier is wonderful for daysleepers. The first time that I turned it on I thought that it was broke until I saw the mist rolling out the top. COMPLETELY QUIET!! I love the fact that it has a humidity control. You can set it as low or as high as you want it. The only downfall is if you turn the setting all the way up it will burn through the tank of water in about 8-10 hours. * I ordered this unit after reading various reviews online, to replace an older Honeywell humidifier in my children's room. It is exactly as promised; it does its work quickly and effectively, generating a fine mist with no residue. It requires little maintenance compared with standard, filter humidifiers and it allows the user to control not only the humidity level but also the rate by which it reaches that level. My only complaint? It is TOO QUIET! My older, noisier machine served also as a white-noise system to help my children sleep. Now, I have to go out and buy a real white noise machine. I guess that's not much of a complaint. If you're serious about getting a top level humidifier at a reasonable price, get this one. This Air-O-Swiss 7135 has been given the "Quietest humidifier" award by the ConsumerSearch website, and AllergyBuyersClub.com says it is its "best rated and most reliable" model. Slate online journal wrote about the Air-O-Swiss AOS 7142: Hands-down the handsomest machine I tested, this cool silver and black ultrasonic humidifier looks more like a high-end stereo than a drab household appliance. The control panel features a timer, a digital humidistat, a mist-output regulator, an automatic shut-off/sleep feature, and flashing indicators when it's time to refill or clean the machine. This almost-silent humidifier also has a cool two-part rotating spout that shoots the mist in multiple directions, for an excellent Laser Floyd effect. The vertical shape is also convenient Good Housekeeping rated the 7144 model as its "splurge-worthy pick" in a review of humidifiers. The magazine said it has "an elegant digital display and special technology that uses silver ions, which have been shown to prevent and control microbial growth." Wired magazine also reviewed the 7144 at length, awarding it 8 points out of 10. * Get the Latest Prices on Air Swiss Humidifier See also my report Buyers Guide to the Best Humidifiers.
