At the time of writing the top seller among Aprilaire filters was the Aprilaire 35 Replacement Humidifier Water Pad (picture), and it had actually attracted six Amazon.com customer reviews Here is a four-star review: After years of paying for maintenance on my humidifier along with my heater and air conditioner, I finally realized that all they were really doing was charging me to check and replace the water panel. It's a very simple thing to do yourself. This product seems to be identical to what I was replacing, so there's no issue with quality. The only thing to be aware of is that this contains ONLY the water panel, and not the plastic housing. Not a big deal as you can just slide the old one out and the new one in. And a five-star review: You can spend $$$ to have your heating and cooling people come replace your humidifier filter, or you can buy this and do it yourself. The box has clear instructions and it takes zero intelligence. It's about as hard as cleaning the lint filter in your dryer- the difference is you just toss out the old filter and replace with the new, obviously.
