Cross Rhythms in the UK said of this follow-up album to Somebody’s Praying Me Through that “Asbury's voice, pitched firmly in the Bob Carlisle/Russ Taff blue-eyed soul axis, is able to wring out all the meaning from the songs here. If you've a taste for quality American inspirational pop Allen is a singer you will want to investigate.” Christianity Today agreed about the voice, saying the album “has likeable qualities and mighty vocals, though it lacks originality.” Everyone seems to agree that a highlight is Allen’s rendition of “We Will Stand” with Russ Taff.

This was Allen’s debut hit album, with the title track picked up by the Presidential Prayer Team.
